The Formation of Northwestern Pennsylvania Scent Work Association
In November of 2021, community members had the first meeting discussing a
certified American Kennel Club.
Official AKC Certification
We held our first successful sanctioned scent work match in May 2023. Erie PA businesses started sponsoring our shows. After two years of hard work recruiting members, studying regulations and submitting paperwork, on November 9th 2023, the club received notification from the AKC that we were officially licensed.
The path to Flagship Dog Sports Inc.
We have had 11 wildly successful shows so far and hosted an AKC Judge's Seminar. In early 2024, our club voted to become a 501c3 non-profit organization and became Incorporated, making the NWPASWA a DBA under Flagship.
Giving back to our community
Members volunteer for all sorts of events with just some being our first Children's Entrepreneur Fair, AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day and Alliance of Therapy Dogs Erie group visits.
On the Map
In mid 2026, Flagship Dog Sports Inc. received several grants and several donations from community members and businesses and we contrinue to grow.
